Restricting J'ouvert route

Seems we can't take a step forward (extending route to Socadome) without taking at least one step backwards.

Some body or bodies in their infinite wisdom have decided that all j'ouvert bands are to be directed downtown.  Without consultation it seems the new j'ouvert route published in today's Newsday page 21, states "Bands will proceed east along Tragarete Road, then south along St. Vincent St., east along South Quaty, north onto Broadway around the Cipriani Circle, then east along Independence Square North, north along Picccadilly Street, west onto park st, then north onto Charlotte street, eaton onto Oxford St, north onDundonald St, west along Queen's Park East, est onto St. Clari Avenue ontinuing west along St. Clari Ave to Tragarete Road.

Bands will proceed east along Ariapita Ave, then onto Park Street, south among Fredrick Street, east along Independence Square North along Piccadilly st, west onto Park sT.  (as above)

Bands coming from Maravaland surrounding areas will proceed south along the saddle pad onto Queen's Park West, west onto St. Clair, then south onto Gray street joining the the route on Tragarete road.

Woodbrook and St. James are an integral part of the j'ouvert and many j'ouvert bands stopped going downtown because it exposes their masqueraders to greater congestion and security risks.  Having every band along the same route grants a more peaceful night to residents of St. James and Woodbrook but is likely to make j'ouvert feel restricted, congested and less safe for the people who play.

The published route seems only to exist in the Newsday and apart from a very low resolution and undecipherable logo , no one is visibly taking responsibility for this new route.
