Whoever is responsible for the Maracas bay public facilities.  The Ministry of Tourism?

I noticed this back in February of this year (2013) and went back again two weeks ago to check if it had changed.  After all, maybe I had just gone there on a day when they forgot to clean?  No such luck.

The floors and walls are sticky and grimy, and it gives for a feeling that you wouldn't want to use the facilities if you didn't have to.

I hope the ladies facilities are cleaner, but I can't imagine why only the men's would be in this condition.

Also the parking lot is in a deplorable state of disrepair.  You can even smell raw sewage at times when you go to the back of the building that houses the changing facilities depicted in this video.

Come on people.  This is our most famous and visited beach!  We can do better, especially since it's so easy.

If our Tourism Ministry should not be the not-so-proud recipient, alert us to the rightful awardee.

Will be happy to give a Redemption Award the moment this is addressed.

No need to get defensive or aggressive.  An authentic mea culpa and a demonstrable fix will be appreciated, admired and celebrated on these pages.

Don't forget to vote people!  Who would you nominate for a Cobo or Spongecake award?

You'll need to be logged in to submit your nominations.
